This study investigates different methods for monitoring Starlink satellites by comparing the performance of telescope array case studies to the all-sky array, which uses thousands of telescopes to monitor the entire sky from a single site. By analysing key metrics, I demonstrate significant benefits for using a global network of telescope arrays over the all-sky array, particularly in terms of cost-effectiveness. Title A name given to the resource Science, Engineering and Medicine Academic Paper An academic paper Abstract The abstract of the paper This study expands upon the work of Barberis (2012) which discusses the application of Tversky and Kahneman’s updated model of prospect theory in 1992 (cumulative prosepect theory) to the area of repeated bets with win probabilities of close to 0.5, in contexts such as casinos or financial markets. In particular, we look to explore the idea of a ’time inconsistency’ that is abundant in many strategic situations evaluated using cumulative prospect theory. What this refers to is the phenomenon of an agent deciding what their optimal strategy is before entering the situation but then following a different plan of action at future time periods. We explore the impacts of moving away from simple bets by changing some of the underlying principles, such as the effects of generalising the win probability, p, or introducing a random shock to the reward at a random point in time. This allows us to connect Barberis’ work to areas beyond just a casino, such as prices of securities in financial markets. We will do this by exploring the effects on a two-period binomial model but which can be extended. We also explored whether post-traumatic stress levels differ by gender (female vs male). Forty-nine earthquake survivors were recruited to complete online questionnaires measuring PTS, cognitive flexibility, flexibility mindset, resource changes, and everyday routine maintenance. Multiple regression analyses indicated that none of these variables significantly predicted PTS (p = .704). Independent samples t-test suggested that females reported significantly higher PTS levels than males, t(20) = 2.27, p = .035. While the findings did not support previous research linking these factors to post-traumatic stress (possibly due to the small sample size) they highlight significant gender differences. Future research should involve larger samples, explore additional factors contributing to post-traumatic stress, and investigate the underlying reasons on females reporting greater post-traumatic stress compared to males. This paper takes a stand that embracing neurodiversity in the workplace, particularly in the IT financial and investment sectors, offers the company many competitive advantages. The central assertion is that consciously seeking to employ people on the neurodivergent spectrum can make these sectors more innovative by enhancing the range of problem-solving qualities within the workforce. Support for this argument can be well provided by evidence from U.S. companies. For instance, JPMorgan Chase's Autism at Work program mentioned a 48 percent performance improvement in specific organizational positions. In Microsoft's neurodiversity hiring pilot, the team with neurodivergent employees was 30 percent more productive than a neurotypical team. The above examples indicate how neurodiversity brings practical advantages to employers' organizations. LLMs are known to hallucinate and may be subject to cascading hallucinatory generations due to their autoregressive structure and exposure bias. This paper first introduces the topic of hallucination cascade, covering relevant literature. Then an experiment is presented on the propagation of hallucination through long answer text generation, for all combinations of five LLMs - Qwen2 (0.5B), Qwen2 (7B), Llama3.1 (8B), Gemma2 (9B) and Mistral-NeMo (12B) - at five levels of temperature: 0, 0.75, 1, 1.25, 2. In a novel methodology, responses are generated by the five LLMs, then labelled by two more LLMs as hallucinatory or not on both a token and sentence level. The labelling is done with clear instructions and additional context to ensure its quality. Correlational evidence was found on both granularity levels that hallucinatory tokens are positively autocorrelated at lag 1, and that autocorrelation monotonically decreases as lag increases (token level only), supporting the cascading hallucination hypothesis. Finally, some hallucination mitigating techniques are presented, with both research and application in mind. This article aims to identify the occurrence of environmental racism in Rio de Janeiro State with empirical data analysis and critically engage with it through a holistic understanding of racism, analysing the common-sense perspective of naturalising, rationalising and individualising environmental disasters.
