My project was to analyse the factors involved in successful accounts of regime change as well as compare the political structure of post-independence Myanmar to that during the country’s episodes of
democratic transition. Out of this research, I intend to contribute a detailed framework of what a successful
democratisation process should look like and identify the factors that led to the country's failed transition.
