Abstract

This project demonstrates the sustainable synthesis of poly(n-butyl methacrylate) (PBMA) latexes via electrochemical Reversible Addition–Fragmentation Chain Transfer (eRAFT) polymerisation using reactive macromonomer surfactants. The incorporation of tBMA-co-BMA macromolecules provided effective covalent stabilisation, yielding PBMA with controlled molecular weight and low dispersity. These findings highlight eRAFT as a promising route towards greener, more stable methacrylate polymer production for industrial applications.
